Our candle and gift company started from a hobby and a dream!
My daughter, Lauren, was a very young girl of 6-years-old when she noticed the allure of candles. In fact, she was known to strip the wax from my Gouda cheese, put a toothpick in it and say, “Mom, I made you a candle.”
Lauren picked up her hobby again at age 14 while in high school – this time with more conviction. Our friends would bring over their leftover candle wax – she would re-melt them, add new wicks and happily return a new “great” candle. Everyone loved her creations and in 2003 Lauren asked me to leave a full-time job so we could start our own candle and gift company. With this leap of faith we took hold of an opportunity that would not only be a way to spend more quality time together as mother and daughter, but would give my daughter an invaluable education of running a business.
After a lot of work, study, testing, and sleepless nights (most call it – burning the candle at both ends) we feel we’ve created a high quality, hand poured candle with a very artistic flair!
…And we are happy to share these “warm works of art” with you!!!
